I saw this handsome fellow in my front yard this afternoon.....had never seen one of these before so after befriending him until he grew bored with me, I ran inside to do some research and identify him. This is a Cowbird!  I had never heard of one although they apparently are quite common.  It is interesting that they use the old nests of other birds.   He let me get amazingly close while I gently tossed safflower seeds toward him.  The sound that he made as he was apparently calling his mate was very unusual....I have definitely not heard one of...

 I studied fashion history at the university, and my passion for it has intensified over the years.  Many of my own designs are drawn from the influence of vintage fashion......the placement of a pleat or tuck.....the sleeve detail.....the inclusion of beautiful lace detail.  I am especially passionate about hand-sewn work much like you would see done in the couture houses of Paris.  I find it very exciting to add tiny stitches with needle and thread, making the finished piece truly a little work of art.  For 32 years of having my own line of sleepwear & loungewear,  I have enjoyed learning...

I love developing my own colors to add to our offerings.  Smokey Lavender is one of my favorites and came after months of testing in the kitchen sink and my laundry room.  When I presented it in my retail shop at the time, the response was just overwhelming!  I knew I had a winner!  And when I "see" a color, I  literally see it EVERYWHERE......in nature, in fashion, cosmetics, you name it.  This one is going to be with us from now on, so lavender fields forever it is! https://savorthebest.com/homemade-lavender-tea/
