A new year is here . . .
"To read a poem in January is as lovely as to go for a walk in June."- Jean-Paul SartreI have been enjoying the remainder of my holiday break just relaxing over a cup of coffee (something I rarely do) reading poetry, and doing nothing except whatever I am in the mood for at the moment.....I could get used to this! Next week it’s back to filling all the orders that came in while I have been away. For me this past week has been about reflection...thankfulness....hope....planning....fine-tuning everything....simplifying that which can be simplified...and determining to grow in all the ways that...
LIFE'S LITTLE TREASURES . . .
As a young girl I loved asking my Mama and my grandmothers what it was like when they were young girls. Those were precious moments of sharing and growing closer to them. I somehow managed to save one of Mama's Seventeen magazines; I have Grandma's old work basket full of her crochet thread unravelled from feed sacks; and I have Granny's frilly bride doll that started with her, then to Mamas, and later to me. The result has been pieces to live in around the clock.
Sing to me Autumn . . . . .
Sing to me, Autumn, with the rustle of your leaves. Breathe on me your spicy scents that flow within your breeze. Dance with me, Autumn, your waltz that bends the boughs of trees. Now tell me all the secrets you've whispered to the seas. Sleep with me, Autumn, beneath your starlit skies. Let your yellow harvest moon shimmer in our eyes. Kiss me, Autumn, with your enchanting spellbound ways That changes all you touch into crimson golden days. Love me, Autumn, and behold this love so true That I'll be waiting faithfully each year to be with you. Poem by...
