Happy Mother's Day...........
This sweet lady was my #1 fan...my biggest cheerleader....my forever and ever encourager. She made sure I had something new to sew all the time.....my treat at the end of the week was a new sewing pattern and pretty fabric for my next project.....and this started when I was maybe 11 or 12 years old! I can hear her like it was yesterday: "Tina, as bull-headed and stubborn as you are, you can do anything you want to!" Mama Lottie was reminding me that the world was my oyster and the sky was the limit! Missing my precious Mama more...

I saw this handsome fellow in my front yard this afternoon.....had never seen one of these before so after befriending him until he grew bored with me, I ran inside to do some research and identify him. This is a Cowbird! I had never heard of one although they apparently are quite common. It is interesting that they use the old nests of other birds. He let me get amazingly close while I gently tossed safflower seeds toward him. The sound that he made as he was apparently calling his mate was very unusual....I have definitely not heard one of...
