I spend hours researching fashion history for inspiration.....it never ceases to amaze me the lovely examples of fine workmanship that I continue to discover. I have such admiration for the hands that fashioned these lovely pieces, most of which must have been made entirely by hand. I remember my Fashion History classes and my amazing instructor, Dr. Frank. She saw to it that we understood the evolution of fashions.....not just for their aesthetic interest, but also for their necessity....the reasons for the styles of the time and the materials that were available during the period. In this day and age we have so many choices and so many options to choose from. My passion is to preserve the best of the old methods of construction and the use of the finest fabrics. Slow design and made to last....that is the Simple Pleasures way.
